Our Pastor

Reverend Michael Foley

This is our pastor, Michael Foley. In Spanish, "pastor" means shepherd.

Pastor Michael Foley is a 1988 graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Thiensville, Wisconsin.  Shortly after his birth in Watertown, Wisconsin, his family moved to Garden Grove, California, where he attended King of Kings Lutheran Church.  After Confirmation he attended Northwestern Lutheran Academy in Mobridge, South Dakota.  With the closure of that school, he completed his high school education in Martin Luther Preparatory School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.  From MLPS he went on to Northwestern College, then Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.

He is married to Theresa (Lehne) and the Lord has blessed their family with four sons.

Pastor Foley has served at Pilgrim in Mesa, Arizona; Calvary in Canyon Country, California; and Beautiful Savior in Carlsbad, California. Prior to accepting the call to Star of Bethlehem, he served at the Spanish-speaking mission Pan de Vida in Santa Ana, California.

He has also served as a Circuit Pastor for the Orange Circuit (Southern California) and Military Contact Pastor.

Weekly he carefully studies the original Hebrew and Greek languages to prepare his sermons and lessons. He then shares the precious truths of the Bible verse by verse.

We invite you to join us at Star and find the joy that a Christ-centered sermon can bring into your life.
